A Fine Turnip Recipe

1 medium turnip, cooked and mashed
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash of pepper
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon flour
2 eggs, separated

Mix well: turnip, butter, salt, pepper, sugar and flour. Beat 2 egg whites until stiff; set aside. Beat 2 egg yolks until light, gradually stir into seasoned turnip. Fold in egg whites. Pour into greased 1 quart casserole. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until puffy and lightly browned.

Removal and Servings:

Slowly open oven door. Plug nose. Open all windows and set exhaust fan on high. Carefully remove pan from oven and drop directly into a toxics rated sealable metal garbage can. Throw can in landfill. Sell house.

I'm I to understand that you like turnips about as much as asparagus?

Or that you can't find any good veggie recipes? (Is this "good recipes" or "good veggies? Hummmm???)

Or are you just a bad cook?!?!?

Interesting recipe. In fact, at a recent Gaming Weekend we had a Gamer that planned on cooking up that very meal. However, somehow in the process, he locked his head in the oven.

The rest of us noticed this mistake almost immediately, but didn't say anything to him, for fear it might embarrass him. Finally after an hour or two, I turned the oven off and let him free. Let me tell you, that stunk up the whole house pretty good too!
