Journalist At a Loss On Suspect's Religion

There seems to have been a bit of confusion for Larry Celona in the New York Post as he covered a story about a student at Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights.

September 19, 2007 -- A Queens teen was arrested yesterday after placing fliers in his teachers' mailboxes asking them to convert to Islam - then made threats once he was caught, authorities said.

Yaseen Chowdhury, 17, of Woodside, wrote the fliers himself and put them in the mailboxes at the Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights, sources said.

When confronted there about the fliers, he made unspecified verbal threats, according to the sources.

Chowdhury was charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime.

A Department of Education spokesman did not return a call seeking comment.
However, in one of those moments that helps to clarify a typical reporter for the relativist he is, Larry finishes his article with a line of pure genius.
"The student's religion was not immediately known."
Though the fact that conversion to Islam was the purpose of the fliers, only an Islamophobe could accurately deduce that the miserable little bastard was indeed a Muslim. And, by all measures that are worldly and accepted, Larry Celona is no Islamophobe.
